Since a knowledge of the word of God is the foundation for living the Christian life, Sunday School is one of the most important ministries of any church. It is the place where we teach the vital importance of scripture to young and old alike and grow them in their Christian understanding.
From its very beginning, Sunday School has been one of the primary components of the overall educational ministry at Mt. Zion. In fact, the Mt. Zion Apostolic Church began as a Sunday School class held in the living room of the Franklin home. The first soul saved in Mt. Zion was at the conclusion of one of those classes. So it could be accurately stated that this church has its very roots in the Sunday School ministry.
Over the years four individuals have lead our Sunday School Department. Minister Deanne Mulkins, Minister Mary Cole, Elder Darryl Thomas, and the ministry is currently under the direction of Minister Ayanna Sortor.
Sunday School offers Bible training for all members of the family. From preschoolers to senior citizens Sunday School provides a foundation of knowledge in the word of God through a systematic, and intentional process. This process helps to facilitate a unified understanding of the Bible among our congregation.
Sunday School provides many opportunities for individuals to serve in the church such as teacher, assistant teacher, secretary, outreach leader, discipleship leader, care group leader, prayer leader, greeter, refreshment coordinator, etc.).
Join us each Sunday for our morning service.
Join us every Wednesday for Bible Study.
Please feel free to stop by the church Monday – Saturday from 6:30-7:30 for prayer.
